Treasury (Bait ul Maal)

DEPARTMENT OF BAIT-UL-MAAL

Goals:

  • Raising the spirit of giving and stressing the importance of spending in the way of Allah, among all Muslims in general and among MGAs / Members/ responsible sisters in particular so that it becomes a source of their personal training and purification of the heart.
  • Providing financial support to the movement from workers to make the important resources available for Islamic Work.
  • Keeping the record of donations and expenses with receipts and maintaining monthly balance reports regularly. Providing guidelines to all Cities/Regions/Units/Subunits about proper way of record keeping. Since the donation to Bait-ul-maal is a Trust, maintaining the record with honesty, keeping in view the sensitivity of the matter and sense of accountability, is an obligation.

Resources of Income:

ICNA Sisters’ Wing has adopted a few methods of collecting money for Bait-ul-Maal e.g. fund raising, monthly member donation, donations from other people, zakat and sadaqa.

Expenses:

ICNA Sisters’ Wing is an organized movement, and honesty as well as trust are its basic characteristics. The money is used in accordance with the laws and rulings set by the Quran and Sunnah. The Bait-ul-Maal money is spent with the utmost carefulness and sincerity. It is used in the following places:

  1. Website
  2. Dawah
  3. Tarbiyah
  4. Online Classes (Paltalk)
  5. Institute
  6. Quran printing
  7. Training camps and other programs
  8. Printing and publishing
  9. Noor Magazine
  10. MCNA (Muslim Children of North America)
  11. Companion (Children Magazine)
  12. Yearly convention
  13. Cassettes, flyers, circulars, etc.

Bait-ul-Maal tries its level best to put the money in the section it was given by the person e.g. zakat, sadaqa, etc.

Hadrat Umar Farooq (R) said, “I do not consider anything correct in regards to Bait-ul-Maal than these three:

  1. It should be taken as a right
  2. It should be distributed as a right
  3. And it should be stopped from committing evil.

And my relationship with your wealth is the as a guardian’s has with an orphan’s wealth.”

Auditing:

ICNA Sisters’ Wing Bait-ul-Maal gives a receipt for all donations made and at the same time does through auditing as well. This is done in order to keep a checks and balances situation and to maintain a proper record. It feels obligated to inform sisters about the expenses and where money was spent but it is better and more regarding to put one’s trust in it and let is work without worries.

The ICNA Sisters’ Wing invited us all to strengthen the publishing and advertisement of Allah’s deen on this land. We should involve ourselves in Infaq Fi Sabil Allah and promote others to do the same and maybe this will ensure our safe place in Jannah.
